Since retiring, I now have time to focus on myself. One of the areas of focus is the skin on my face. After decades of smoking, neglect and hard living, the skin on my face consisted mostly of enlarged pores. Three months ago, I started a regimen of exfoliation using crushed apricot pits purchased at a beauty supply store and vitamin E cream. Three nights a week, before retiring, I applied the exfoliant and used a battery-operated toothbrush (the kind with a rotary head) for increased abrasion with fine control. In the morning, I applied the vitamin e cream for protection. After three months, about half of the enlarged pores have returned to normal. Only the really large ones remain, and they are much smaller than when I started. The results are so good that I have decided to do some homework and learn how to properly care for my skin.

I recently came across information on the oldest holistic health program in the world, called Ayueveda. Here is a little background on it. At the end I have started a great skin tip from this health system. Ayurveda, literally the "science of life and longevity" in ancient Sanskrit, is the oldest healing system in the world in continuous practice. It dates over 3000 years, with roots going back even further. It is the worlds first holistic system of health maintenance, based on lifestyle, diet and herbs. It was discovered that the taste of an herb determines its action: cleansing, balancing or rejuvenating. Generally, bitter tasting herbs clear and cleanse, whereas sweeter herbs tend to be nourishing and rebuilding. In contrast, vitamins therapy assumes there is a deficiency, if one does not exist, they are simply excreted by the body. Ayurveda states that using pure sesame oil on your skin is moisturizing and antiaging. I bought a bottle (very cheap) and have been using it all over my body and face then showering the excess off. My skin is glowing and definitely more hydrated. Great stuff.
Ingredients:
Organic Sesame oil
How to prepare:
Buy a bottle from the supermarket or health shop
How to use:
Apply generously to your whole body and face, then shower as normal.
Results (observed by submitter):
Smooth moisturized skin after only a couple of weeks.
